Large Batch Orange Citrus Juice
This refreshing citrus drink is packed with vitamin C and fresh fruit flavor. While citrus fruits are nutritious, it’s important to know there’s no reliable scientific evidence that this juice can cure or remove muscle, joint, or rheumatic pain. It can be part of a healthy diet, but it isn’t a substitute for medical treatment.
Ingredients
10 large oranges, peeled
4 lemons, peeled
2 limes, peeled
2 grapefruits, peeled (optional, for extra citrus flavor)
1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled (optional)
4–6 cups cold water
¼-½ cup honey or sugar (optional, to taste)
Ice cubes
Orange, lemon, and lime slices for garnish
Fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions
Wash all the fruit thoroughly.
Peel the oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit, removing most of the white pith to reduce bitterness.
Cut the fruit into chunks and remove any seeds.
Add the fruit and ginger (if using) to a blender with half the water. Blend until smooth.
Strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth if you prefer a smoother juice.
Stir in the remaining water and sweeten with honey or sugar if desired.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Serve over ice and garnish with citrus slices and fresh mint.
Yield
Makes about 12–16 cups (3–4 liters), depending on how much water you add.
Storage
Store in a covered pitcher or airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir well before serving, as the juice may naturally separate.
