Ingredients
4 medium russet potatoes, scrubbed clean
1–2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon black pepper (optional)

Sour cream
Shredded cheddar cheese
Crispy bacon bits
Chopped green onions or chives
Salt and pepper
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes if your model requires preheating.
Pat the potatoes completely dry with paper towels.
Pierce each potato 5–6 times with a fork to allow steam to escape.
Rub each potato with olive oil, then sprinkle evenly with salt and pepper.
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them.
Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 35–50 minutes, turning the potatoes halfway through cooking.
Check for doneness by inserting a knife or fork into the center. It should slide in easily. Larger potatoes may need an additional 5–10 minutes.
Slice each potato open, fluff the inside with a fork, add a pat of butter, and top with your favorite toppings.

Small potatoes: 30–35 minutes
Medium potatoes: 35–45 minutes
Large potatoes: 45–55 minutes
For extra crispy skin, sprinkle with a little extra salt immediately after cooking.
