Hibiscus, Cloves & Avocado Drink
A refreshing, creamy drink that combines the tart flavor of hibiscus with warm cloves and the richness of avocado.
Ingredients
2 cups water
2 tablespoons dried hibiscus flowers
4 whole cloves
1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
1–2 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon fresh lime or lemon juice (optional)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
1 cup cold milk (dairy or plant-based), or cold water for a lighter drink
Ice cubes
Instructions
In a small saucepan, bring the 2 cups of water to a boil.
Add the dried hibiscus flowers and whole cloves. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5–7 minutes.
Remove from the heat and let steep for another 10 minutes.
Strain the tea and allow it to cool completely. Chill in the refrigerator if desired.
In a blender, combine the cooled hibiscus-clove tea, avocado, milk (or water), honey or sugar, lime juice, and vanilla.
Blend until smooth and creamy.
Taste and adjust the sweetness if needed.
Pour over ice and serve immediately.
Optional Add-Ins
A small piece of fresh ginger for a spicy kick.
A pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth.
A few mint leaves for a refreshing finish.
Tips
Use a ripe avocado for the creamiest texture.
Chill all the ingredients before blending for the best flavor.
This drink is best enjoyed fresh, as avocado can darken if stored for long periods.
