Slow Cooker 4-Ingredient Depression Era Swiss Steak

Ingredients
2 pounds round steak or cube steak
1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
Instructions
Lightly grease the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
Place the steak in the bottom of the slow cooker. If necessary, cut it into serving-size pieces.
In a bowl, stir together the cream of mushroom soup, diced tomatoes (with their juice), and onion soup mix.
Pour the mixture evenly over the steak, making sure it is well coated.
Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours or High for 3–4 hours, until the meat is fork-tender.
Gently stir the sauce before serving.

Tips
For a thicker gravy, stir 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water into the sauce during the last 20–30 minutes of cooking.
