🍗 Easy Slow Cooker Chicken
Tender, juicy chicken in a rich, savory sauce—an easy dump-and-go dinner with minimal prep.
Ingredients
2 lbs (900 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
1 can (10.5 oz / 298 g) cream of chicken soup
½ cup chicken broth
½ cup sour cream
1 packet (1 oz / 28 g) ranch seasoning mix
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt, or to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, optional
Instructions
Prepare the chicken:
Place the chicken in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
Make the sauce:
In a bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, sour cream, and ranch seasoning until smooth.
Combine:
Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken.
Slow cook:
Cover and cook on:
LOW: 5–6 hours
HIGH: 2½–3½ hours
Cook until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part.
Shred:
Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks, or leave the pieces whole. Return the chicken to the sauce.
Add cheese:
Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the chicken. Cover and cook for another 10–15 minutes, until melted.
Serve:
Garnish with parsley and spoon the creamy sauce over the chicken.
