Amish Butter Noodles
Simple, comforting, and full of rich buttery flavor, these Amish Butter Noodles make the perfect side dish for roast chicken, beef, pork, or meatloaf.
Ingredients
12 oz (340 g) egg noodles
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 cups (480 ml) chicken broth
1 cup (240 ml) whole milk or heavy cream
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
In a large pot, combine the chicken broth, milk, butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle boil.
Add the egg noodles and stir well.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 8–10 minutes, or until the noodles are tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
If the noodles become too dry before they’re fully cooked, add a splash of extra broth or milk.
Stir in the Parmesan cheese, if using, until melted and creamy.
Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
