Lettuce Wrap Burgers
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
For the burgers:
1½ lbs (680 g) ground beef (80/20 works best)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
4 slices cheddar cheese (optional)
For serving:
8 large iceberg or romaine lettuce leaves
1 tomato, sliced
½ red onion, thinly sliced
Dill pickle slices
4 tbsp mayonnaise
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp yellow mustard
Instructions
Mix the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties.
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook the burgers for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until they reach your preferred doneness.
Add a slice of cheese during the last minute of cooking and let it melt.
Wash and dry the lettuce leaves well. Use two overlapping leaves for each burger to make them sturdier.
Mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to make a quick burger sauce.
Spread the sauce on the lettuce, then layer with tomato, onion, pickles, and the cooked burger.
Fold the lettuce around the burger and enjoy immediately.
