Cheesy Pasta Shells with Ground Beef

Cheesy Pasta Shells with Ground Beef
Ingredients
12 ounces medium pasta shells
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil (if needed)
1 (24-ounce) jar marinara or pasta sauce
1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained (optional)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or basil (for garnish)
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta shells according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess grease if needed.
Add the onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add the marinara sauce, diced tomatoes (if using), Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Stir the cooked pasta shells into the meat sauce until well coated.
Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the top. Cover the skillet and cook for 3–5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with chopped parsley or basil and serve hot.
