4-Ingredient Baked Beef with Onions
This easy baked beef and onion recipe is packed with rich, savory flavor using just four simple ingredients. It’s a comforting, budget-friendly dinner that’s perfect served with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread.
Ingredients
2 pounds beef stew meat or chuck roast, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 large onions, thinly sliced
1 packet onion soup mix
½ cup beef broth
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or Dutch oven.
Spread half of the sliced onions in the bottom of the dish.
Place the beef evenly over the onions.
Sprinkle the onion soup mix over the beef.
Pour the beef broth evenly over the top.
Cover tightly with aluminum foil or a lid.
Bake for 2½ to 3 hours, or until the beef is fork-tender.
Remove from the oven and gently stir the beef and onions together before serving.
