Slow Cooker Garlic Butter Chicken

🧄🧈 Slow Cooker Garlic Butter Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or 6 chicken thighs
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes, optional
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and thyme.
  2. Make the garlic butter: In a small bowl, combine melted butter with the minced garlic.
  3. Load the slow cooker: Place the chicken in the slow cooker. Pour the garlic butter over the chicken, followed by the chicken broth.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Make it creamy: Remove the cooked chicken and set aside. Stir the heavy cream and Parmesan into the garlic-butter juices. Return the chicken to the slow cooker.
  6. Finish: Cover and cook on LOW for another 10–15 minutes, just until the sauce is warmed through and slightly thickened.
  7. Add freshness: Stir in the lemon juice and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  8. Serve: Spoon plenty of the creamy garlic-butter sauce over the chicken.

🍽️ Best Served With

  • Creamy mashed potatoes
  • Steamed broccoli
  • Roasted vegetables
  • Rice or cauliflower rice
  • Buttered noodles
  • Crusty garlic bread

⭐ Tip

Chicken breasts can dry out if overcooked, so start checking them early. Chicken thighs are especially forgiving and stay wonderfully juicy in the slow cooker.
