Sweet, savory, buttery, garlicky, and ready in about 15 minutes!
🛒 Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 tbsp butter, divided
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
½ tsp smoked paprika
¼ tsp red pepper flakes, optional
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt, or to taste
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp sesame seeds, optional
Lemon wedges, for serving
👩🍳 Instructions
Prepare the shrimp:
Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
Make the honey-garlic sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes.
Cook the shrimp:
Heat 1½ tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and nearly cooked through. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
Cook the garlic:
Add the remaining 1½ tablespoons butter to the skillet. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30–45 seconds, just until fragrant. Don’t let it burn.
Add the sauce:
Pour in the honey-soy mixture. Stir and simmer for 1–2 minutes, allowing it to slightly thicken.
Return the shrimp:
Add the shrimp back to the skillet and toss well to coat in the honey garlic butter sauce. Cook for another 1 minute, until the shrimp are fully cooked.
Garnish:
Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley and sesame seeds.
