Cheesy Sloppy Cheeseburger Pasta 🍔🧀🍝
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni or other short pasta
2 cups beef broth
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup heavy cream or whole milk
2 tbsp chopped pickles, optional
2 green onions, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
Brown the beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking the beef apart, until browned and the onion is softened. Drain excess grease if needed.
Add the garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
Build the sauce: Add the tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
Cook the pasta: Add the uncooked pasta and beef broth directly to the skillet. Stir, bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for about 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender. Add a splash of broth or water if it becomes too thick before the pasta is cooked.
Make it creamy: Stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
Add the cheese: Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the cheddar and mozzarella until completely melted and the sauce is creamy and cheesy.
Finish: Stir in chopped pickles if desired. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions and a little extra shredded cheddar. Serve hot.
🍔 Optional Cheeseburger Toppings
Add diced pickles, crispy bacon, caramelized onions, extra ketchup and mustard, or a sprinkle of sesame seeds for an extra cheeseburger-style finish.
