Slow Cooker Vintage Summer Country Ribs

🍖 Slow Cooker Vintage Summer Country Ribs
Tender, saucy country-style ribs with that old-fashioned summer cookout flavor.
Ingredients
3–4 lbs country-style pork ribs
1 medium onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup barbecue sauce
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ cup chicken broth
Instructions
Prepare the ribs: Pat the country-style ribs dry. Season all over with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Layer the slow cooker: Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Arrange the ribs on top.
Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, honey, and chicken broth.
Add the sauce: Pour the mixture over the ribs, making sure they’re well coated.
Slow cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until the pork is very tender.
Optional caramelized finish: Carefully transfer the cooked ribs to a foil-lined baking sheet. Brush generously with the sauce from the slow cooker. Broil for 2–4 minutes, watching closely, until the edges become caramelized and slightly charred.
Serve: Let the ribs rest for about 5 minutes, then serve with extra barbecue sauce.
