Creamy Garlic Butter Chicken

Creamy Garlic Butter Chicken
Tender, juicy chicken breasts in a rich, creamy garlic butter sauce that’s perfect with mashed potatoes, pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or 6 chicken thighs)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon paprika
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup (240 ml) chicken broth
1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Optional: 1 cup baby spinach or sliced mushrooms
Instructions
Season the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 74°C/165°F). Remove from the skillet and keep warm.
Reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining butter. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 3–5 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
If using spinach or mushrooms, add them now and cook until tender.
Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to heat through.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Serving Suggestions
Creamy mashed potatoes
Buttered pasta or fettuccine
Steamed rice
Roasted vegetables
Crusty bread for soaking up the sauce
Tips
Freshly grated Parmesan melts more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
If the sauce becomes too thick, stir in a splash of chicken broth or milk.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently over low heat to prevent the sauce from separating.
