Crispy, juicy chicken wings coated in a sweet, tangy honey-lemon glaze with plenty of garlic. Perfect as an appetizer or easy dinner!
🛒 Ingredients
For the wings:
2 lbs (900 g) chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
2 tbsp cornstarch, for extra crispiness
For the honey lemon glaze:
⅓ cup honey
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp lemon zest
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp butter
½ tsp red pepper flakes, optional
1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp cold water
👩🍳 Instructions
Prepare the wings: Pat the chicken wings very dry with paper towels. Place them in a large bowl and toss with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and cornstarch.
Bake: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Arrange wings in a single layer on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Bake for 40–45 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and crispy and the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internally.
Make the glaze: While the wings cook, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
Add honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the glaze thickens slightly.
Coat the wings: Transfer the crispy wings to a large bowl. Pour the warm honey-lemon glaze over them and toss until every wing is well coated.
Optional extra crisp: Return the glazed wings to the oven for 3–5 minutes to caramelize the glaze slightly.
Garnish with extra lemon zest, chopped parsley, or sesame seeds if desired.
