Homemade Lemon Ginger Mint Wellness Drink
Ingredients
2 large lemons
1 large piece fresh ginger (about 100 g/3.5 oz), peeled and sliced
1 cup fresh mint leaves, lightly packed
6 cups (1.5 liters) water
2–4 tablespoons honey (optional, to taste)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional)
A pinch of black pepper (optional, if using turmeric)
Ice cubes (optional, for serving)
Instructions
Wash the lemons thoroughly. Slice one lemon into rounds and juice the other.
In a saucepan, bring the water to a gentle boil.
Add the sliced ginger and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
Remove from the heat and stir in the fresh mint leaves. Let steep for 5–10 minutes.
Strain the liquid into a large pitcher.
Add the lemon juice, lemon slices, and honey while the drink is still warm. Stir until the honey dissolves.
If using turmeric, stir in the turmeric and a pinch of black pepper.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or serve warm if preferred.
To Serve
Serve over ice for a refreshing cold drink.
Garnish with extra mint leaves and lemon slices.
Storage
Store in a sealed pitcher or bottle in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
Shake or stir before serving, as natural ingredients may settle.
