Crispy Bacon Buttery Fried Cabbage

Crispy Bacon Buttery Fried Cabbage
Ingredients
6 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
1 medium green cabbage, cored and chopped
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving about 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings in the skillet.
Add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the sliced onion and cook for 4–5 minutes until softened.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the chopped cabbage and toss well to coat in the bacon drippings and butter.
Season with smoked paprika, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender with caramelized, crispy edges.
Stir the crispy bacon back into the cabbage and cook for 1–2 minutes to heat through.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
