Healthy Apple Oat Snack

🍎 Healthy Apple Oat Snack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (90 g) rolled oats
  • ⅔ cup (150 ml) warm milk
  • 2 medium apples, grated or finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, optional
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, optional
  • A pinch of salt
  • Vegetable oil or cooking spray, for greasing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples:
Wash, peel if desired, and grate or finely chop the apples. If they release a lot of liquid, gently squeeze out some of the excess.
  2. Soak the oats:
Place the rolled oats in a bowl and pour over the warm milk. Stir and let stand for about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients:
Add the eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and honey or maple syrup if using. Mix well.
  4. Add the apples and nuts:
Stir in the prepared apples, chopped walnuts or almonds, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until evenly combined.
  5. Prepare the pan:
Lightly grease a small baking dish or 8-inch (20-cm) round/ square pan with vegetable oil or cooking spray.
  6. Bake:
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
  7. Cool and serve:
Let it cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or chilled.

🍎 Quick Option

For a faster individual portion, spoon the mixture into a greased microwave-safe ramekin and microwave for about 2–3 minutes, checking frequently until set.

Storage

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently or enjoy cold.

Note: This is a nutritious oat-and-apple snack, but eating it three times a day does not by itself guarantee weight loss. Weight changes depend on your overall diet and energy intake.
