Philly Cheesesteak Ground Beef Spaghetti Skillet
Ingredients:
18 oz spaghetti
2 1/4 lbs ground beef
3 tablespoons olive oil
12 tablespoons butter, divided
12 cloves garlic, minced, divided
1 1/2 yellow onions, diced
1 1/2 green bell peppers, diced
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
2 1/4 teaspoons salt, divided
1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper, divided
3 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 cups whole milk
3 cups shredded provolone cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
6 oz cream cheese, softened
4 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
3/4 cup reserved pasta water
Directions:
- Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until just tender. Save some pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil with half of the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook until softened.
- Add the ground beef, then season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Cook while breaking it apart until nicely browned with some crispy bits.
- Stir in half of the garlic and cook briefly until fragrant, then remove the beef mixture from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining butter and garlic, cooking just until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and milk, stirring gently, then add the cream cheese and mix until smooth.
- Add the provolone, mozzarella, and Parmesan, stirring until fully melted into a thick, creamy sauce.
- Season lightly with the remaining salt and black pepper, then add the cooked spaghetti and toss until well coated.
- Return the beef mixture to the skillet and mix everything together, adding a splash of pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
- Let it cook for another minute until the sauce clings nicely, then finish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
