This simple dessert comes together with just four ingredients and bakes into a warm, fruity treat with a golden, buttery topping.
Ingredients
4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
1 box (about 430 g/15.25 oz) vanilla or yellow cake mix
½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional if using plain cake mix, otherwise use as the fourth ingredient if your cake mix is already flavored)
Alternative 4-ingredient version:
4 cups strawberries
1 box vanilla or yellow cake mix
½ cup melted butter
½ cup chopped pecans (optional for crunch)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking dish.
Spread the strawberries evenly in the bottom of the dish.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the strawberries—do not stir.
Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible.
If using pecans, sprinkle them over the top.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the strawberries are bubbling around the edges.
